March 2nd & 3rd

Dear Adilynn,

The last two days were very similar, which is why I am combining them into one post. On Friday, March 2nd, we both woke up to our normal routines. You are starting to sleep 4-4.5 hours at a time during the night, which is nice! :) After your dad went to the doctor to get some medicine, we met him and a few of my friends (Codye Weaver and Christina Orsagh) at Ramonas to eat lunch. My friends could not believe how much you have grown in the last week. It really is amazing how quickly you grow and change. Just in a matter of weeks you look like a completely different baby--getting cuter every day! After Ramonas, the three of us ran some errands, and then headed home. Then we decided to take a walk because the weather was beautiful! We took your "bionic stroller" (as I like to call it), and packed up and went to the golf course. We enjoyed walking through a much more scenic area than our house. You also enjoyed the walk as you slept right through it. After the walk, we met PahPah and Tah at the course restaurant for dinner. Tah loves feeding you, so she fed you your bottle. I love watching your grandparents' faces light up when they hold you. You make them all so happy. We saw many people that night, and they "OOOed" and "Awwwed" over you.

On Saturday, March 3rd, you got up early (about 5:30 am). I was extremely exhausted from getting up with you the past few nights, so I picked you up out of your moses basket and put you on my chest. We slept together for 2 more hours!! I could not believe it. It must have been your gift to me--letting me sleep. I greatly appreciated it. :) You and I spent most of the morning together. Your dad woke up feeling terrible and was in bed for most of the day. Today we especially worked on breastfeeding. You are starting to grasp the concept of "latching," but we are still struggling. You were not the happiest baby while we worked on it because you much prefer your bottles of breast milk instead--they are less work! Once your dad got up he was feeling a lot better. We decided to go on another walk at the course. The weather was not quite as nice yesterday. The wind was a bit cooler. We bundled you up and made sure you were warm. I bundled you in one of your sleep-n-play outfits. It was a newborn size, and it is a little snug. I'm sure by next week you will not fit into your newborn clothes any more. After our walk, we came home and I fixed dinner for the first time since you were born. Isn't it crazy that we've had meals taken care for us for 4-5 weeks! You are so loved by your family and community, Addie. But, your dad and I love you more than words can describe!

Love, Mom
